Dry Winter Skin

Last week I did a post on dry winter hair so I thought it would be good to do one on skin as well. Now I’m talking about my face here, not my body. For that I just use body butter and lotion from Bath and Body Works most of the time. I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t actually do much in terms of skin care. I’ve tried a couple different face washes (all of them that I’ve tried are alright but nothing special) and I’ve been using the eye cream I got in my Ipsy bag but other than that, I just have one moisturizer that I use (I also use Simple face wipes to get my makeup off). I used to use a Neutrogena one (which was fine) but now I use the Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer.

My skin can never make up its mind whether it wants to be dry or oily. I’ve got patches that are a little dry, patches that are fairly normal, and a few patches that are pretty oily. This works well no matter what my skin decides to do. It also doesn’t 11048719break me out which is a pretty big deal for me. The website says that you can get it from Ulta for $16.99 but I’m almost certain I got it for a lot less than that I just don’t remember where I got it from. The packaging is fine, I’m not crazy about it but I don’t hate it. It looks like their other products and makes you think natural which is probably what they were going for. It’s not too big so it doesn’t take up a ton of space but you still get a fair amount of product. The smell isn’t too bad but I can see how some people wouldn’t like it. You can smell it for a little after you apply it but after that it isn’t a problem. It’s kind of an herby fresh smell and I really don’t mind it. It also has SPF 15 which is nice.

This is a little thicker than the other moisturizer I used but it blends in well and feels more moisturizing. It doesn’t feel oily at all either which is nice. Right when I apply it I can tell that my skin looks better. It’s not a huge drastic difference right away but it makes my skin look more dewy, not oily. It helps makeup go on a little more smoothly as well. As I’ve used this I’ve noticed an improvement in my skin. This stuff has gotten me through the winter season and kept my skin looking pretty good. My skin feels better now and more smooth. It also seems to even my skin tone like it says it will. Overall I really like this stuff. It really feels like it’s moisturizing my skin and not just short term either. I give it a 7.5 out of 10 just because nothing about it stands out too much and the smell could be a little more pleasant.

I hope you guys had a great weekend. Hopefully I’ll have a small clothes haul up tomorrow since I finally went shopping and then I have some eye shadow to review and some more lip products to review (lippies are my weakness). Have a fantastic week guys and I’ll see you tomorrow.
