February Ipsy Bag!

IMG_2636

This month the estimated delivery date for my bag changed more than it usually does. First it was supposed to be here on Valentine’s day and then it got switched to the 23rd and then it finally showed up today. If you don’t know what an Ipsy bag is, it’s a $10 monthly subscription bag that sends you usually 5 deluxe samples or full size beauty products (makeup, hair, and skincare). You can go to their website and take a quiz so that the bags they send you are tailored to you and what you want. This month the bag was pink (Valentine’s Day) with little diamonds on the bottom part of it that were pink and grey. It’s not my favorite bag but as far as quality it’s the same as most other bags.

The first thing I got was a hey honey take it off exfoliating honey peel off mask. The full size of this is 50 mL (this is 10mL) and costs about $35 on their website. It seems straight forward enough, you put a thin layer on, wait 10 or 15 minutes and then peel it off. I’ve only tried really cheap masks but I’ve liked them so I’m excited to try this. It has a nice sweet scent, probably like honey. It’s supposed to be a gel so it will probably feel nice to put it on. It’s a nice sample size so I can probably get 2 or 3 uses out of it or so. I’m really excited for this but I’ll have to get back to you on how well it works.

IMG_2640The next thing I got is the eva nyc Up All Night Volumizing Spray. I’ve gotten their hair mask before in a bag and use that and their hair oil treatment regularly (you can see my review on them here) so I already know that I’m a fan of some of their stuff. This is $24 for 237 mL on their website (this is 30 mL). It’s a fairly good sample size and I’ll be able to use it quite a few times. It’s supposed to protect your hair a little from heat and you put it on damp hair before blow drying to add volume to your hair. It says that you can also spray it on dry hair as a “revitalizing spray”. I like that I can use this even though I don’t blow dry my hair very often. It smells pretty nice but not like their other products. It isn’t a too overpowering smell but it will add a nice smell to your hair. Again, I’ll have to get back to you on whether it works well or not but I’m pretty excited for this one too. It has really good reviews so I’ll let you guys no.

IMG_2644IMG_2650Next is a blush from ModelCo in the color Peach Bellini. A full size is $22 on their website and if this isn’t a full size it’s very generous. I’m pretty sure this is a full size. The color, as the name says is a pretty peachy color with gold shimmer. It’s pigmented and blends out really well. The shimmer isn’t too much but it adds a nice glow and the color will be great for the summer time because of the little bit of orange in it. It’s a nice bright blush that sheers out really well so I’m excited to try it. It’s a really nice texture and goes on really easy. I’ll let you know if I still like it after I try it out for a while.

IMG_2652IMG_2656Next is kind of an interesting product. It’s the Pencil me in Eye Accent Pencil in Amethyst. These cost $3.50. The website says that each color is handcrafted and made to not be like any other color on the market. It also says that these are supposed to be the new “green” cosmetic and have some cool things that help protect your eye area. I really want this to work because it’s pretty cheap and I like the stuff that it talks about on their website. It’s a nice medium purple that borders on a dark plum. It’s kind of blue toned and more cool than warm. It would look really pretty under the eye as a pop of color or all over the eye as a base. Again, I’m excited to try this and I’ll have to get back to you on how well it lasts and everything like that.

IMG_2658IMG_2662The last thing is a lip gloss from Cargo Cosmetics in the color Anguilla. I can’t see how big this sample is but the full size is 2.5 mL and costs $16. This is a very pale pink. On me it would look like a pinky cool toned nude. I think this will look good over other colors like other pinks or nudes. It looks okay by itself and is pretty pigmented but I would probably sheer it out a bit. It’s a tiny bit sticky but not overly so, just enough that it seems like it will stay on the lips. The smell is really nice, kind of like a pina colada or like bananas. It’s fairly pigmented for a lip gloss as well. I wore it today and so far the only complaint I have is that I got a weird bit of light residue on the inside part of my lips from this. It was like all the color moved there and then dried up. I’ll have to keep trying it though. I’m always excited to try new lip products and I’ve never tried this brand before so I’m excited.IMG_2664

Overall I’m super happy with this bag. There are lots of good sized samples and lots of the products pay for the bag by themselves. I was pretty excited about all the products and there wasn’t really anything that I wasn’t happy with or wasn’t excited to try. I’ll do my normal update once my next bag ships and let you know how all the products are doing then. Hopefully everyone has had a good week so far. We’re almost to the weekend. Hopefully you guys have a great day tomorrow and I’ll see you Saturday. 🙂
