Let’s Talk Hair

So let’s talk about hair. Toward the middle of summer I got my hair cut. I had hair down to my waist and I got it cut right above my shoulders. Honestly when I went in all I knew was that I wanted it above my shoulders because my hair getting caught under my purse straps was getting very annoying and I also knew I wanted straight across bangs.

I know there are lots of people that are scared by places like this but I’ve had pretty good luck with them and where I live there aren’t many other options. I was a bit nervous this time because I didn’t know exactly what I wanted but I left with a haircut that I really loved. Don’t ask me to much about the haircut because all I know is that it was just above my shoulders, had straight across bangs, had some layers, and that she thinned it a bit in the back because my hair is super thick there. I really love having shorter hair and grew more and more confident as more people started comparing the hair to Taylor Swift’s cut. Really though, if you’re thinking about getting your hair cut just do it. It feels better, doesn’t get caught on everything, uses less product, and if you don’t like it you can just wait for it to grow out again.

999999-55086607414999999-79400082367As far as product goes, I mostly just use shampoo in the shower and sometimes add conditioner to the routine. I’ve been using the Dove Intensive Repair shampoo and the Dove Revival Shampoo. Both are pretty budget friendly and both work great with my hair. Out of the two I have to say that I like the Intensive Repair better as it keeps my hair clean for longer and makes it softer. Both smell great and both make my hair look great. I already did a review on the conditioner/hair mask I use and I’m still using the same thing.

Recently I’ve been using heat on my hair more often. I already have very straight hair but I like to use a straightener on my shorter hair to make it all go the right way and make it so the ends don’t stick out at weird angles. I’ve been using the TRESemme Heat Tamer spray and I really think it helps to protect my hair and helps my hair hold whatever style. I don’t feel like my hair is getting damaged and the product smells good as well.

I don’t really use much product in my hair. What do you guys use in your hair? I could always use some great new products to try out. If you’ve gotten your hair cut recently let me know how you like it. I hope your week is going great, you’re halfway there. Have an amazing Wednesday and I’ll see you again on Friday.

I’m Back

So it’s been a whole 7 months since my last post on here. I feel really bad that’s it’s been so long but I had a job that was working me upwards of 50 hours a week and I just couldn’t keep up with the posts on here. Basically I took a much needed hiatus but now I’m back.

Quite a lot happened while I was away. I went on vacation, my baby brother got his first job, I got my hair cut (I get compared to Taylor Swift a lot now), and of course I’ve been adding to my makeup collection. I really want to post regularly for you guys and keep to a schedule so for now I’m going to be posting on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Those will be my most free days and that way you get to start and end the weekend with a post and also get a post midweek. We’ll see how long I can keep that up (haha not so great with schedules btu I’m going to try).

I’m going to keep everything mostly beauty related with some extra bits thrown in (I haven’t decided whether I’ll do non-beauty related posts on the scheduled days or whether I’ll add them in on extra days so let me know what you think). I’m going to go back to doing the monthly Ipsy bag unboxing and follow up later in the month. I think instead of a “monthly favorites” I’ll do a summary style post everything for talking about products, items, and events in general from that month. Like before I’ll also have product reviews and hauls. Hopefully I’ll start adding some tutorials or lookbooks as I get a bit more confident in my style and makeup abilities and also get comfortable with posting again.

That’s all I’ve got for today, basically just a long overdue update for you guys and a promise that I’m going to try my absolute best to stick to the schedule and post regularly. I hope you guys are having a fantastic day and I’ll see you guys Sunday.

Weekend Update!

I hope you guys are having a great Valentine’s Day whether you have a significant other or not. If nothing else it’s a great excuse to eat chocolate. So this next week I want to keep doing reviews and stuff like normal. All of my reviews are of things I’ve already had for a while because I currently don’t have a job and don’t have enough money to go out and buy new stuff. I’ve got enough stuff to last me a while for reviews on makeup and hopefully my Ipsy bag will come soon.

I’ve been wanting to do another hair tutorial. Tutorials are hard to do without a video though so let me know if you want a tutorial video or have other ideas on how to make that work. I could also be doing more clothes videos. If you guys have any ideas at all of things you want to see definitely let me know.

I’ve been thinking and I’m going to change how often I do posts. Right now I try to do them every week day and with school, church, trying to find a job, and family stuff that’s too many. I want to make sure to post quality stuff for you guys so I’m going to be posting every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Every now and then I might post an extra day or something if I have enough time but those three are the days that you can always expect to hear from me.

Like I said, if you have any ideas or anything for me make sure you let me know. I love hearing from you guys. Hopefully your week has gone great and your Valentine’s Day is spectacular. Have a good rest of the weekend and I’ll see you Tuesday. 🙂

January Ipsy Bag Update!

IMG_2393 IMG_2392Alright it’s time for me to update you guys on this last month’s Ipsy bag since my new one shipped today. Ipsy is a monthly subscription bag that sends you usually 5 luxury samples and full size products for $10 a month. When you sign up you answer some questions about skin tone and what kind of products you like to help them pick products that will be good for you. You can click here to go to their website and click here to read my blog post from when I first got this month’s items (they’ll open in a new tab so don’t worry). I’ve actually been using the products quite a lot this month and I’ve really been enjoying them. I went and house sat for someone for a week and the bag everything came in definitely came in handy. I used it for some of my makeup and it worked really well. It’s cute and easy to clean.

Weekend Update #1

I thought I would kind of let you guys know what to expect this next week and month both for you and to give me some incentive to post every day. This next week is the first week back at school for me after the break but I only have 2 classes this semester so I should still be able to keep up with posting. Later this month I’m going to be back at the place with iffy wi-fi but it’s not last minute this time so I should be able to keep posting then too.

I’ll be over in town for school so hopefully I’ll have a clothes haul sometime this week. I also want to do a hair tutorial, probably some sort of braid since I pretty much wear a side braid every day. I want to update you on last month’s Ipsy bag and how the products are working since my new one shipped and I plan on doing another Ipsy post then. Of course I’ll keep doing reviews as well. Oh I also want to start doing monthly favorites so keep and eye out for that. Since school is starting again and I’ll be out of the house more you might be getting some different kinds of posts. Definitely always let me know if you like it so I can know what to post for you guys. If there’s something you want to see let me know so I can make it happen.

There’s also now a Beauty Fable Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. Those will all open in new tabs so you can click on them or just look up Beauty Fable. I’ve wanted to make some beauty related accounts on some of those anyway so I thought I would just keep with the theme and make it easy on myself and everyone else.

Hope you all had a great week and I’ll see you guys Monday 🙂
